Shareable family, we’ve got one of our dear friends and fellow WeWorkers Parchelle Hotten on the show this Wednesday!
Parchelle Hotten is a former high school math teacher turned entrepreneur. A native of Virginia Beach, her video production company Fresh Level Productions has served a number of clients from Verizon to The Kimmel Center of Performing Arts. Her passion for education continues, as she currently speaks on all kinds of video marketing topics. She’s been featured online in CNN, FOX and Wall Street. So yeah, she’s pretty awesome.
We loved having Parchelle on the show. Here are just a few of the topics covered: Circuit City, Clipart, 3D Printing, and Dramatic Grandmothers. Obviously, you’ve gotta check this one out.

How Parchelle uses tech:
Parchelle considers herself an semi-adopter of technology. She likes to test the waters, before she jumps. She’s about an 8.9 or 9 (if you’re rounding) in her technology comfort level. And you can bet she identifies as a content creator, expect not when she’s off the clock. Oh and she’s an iPhone user, all day.
For Parchelle, as a video marketer, technology allows her to run her business from anywhere. With only her laptop and her phone, she can conduct business, meet people, and build relationships. Without technology, it’s hard for Parchelle to image what she’d be doing.
When she was in middle school, Parchelle was part of a church that held lots of community events. To promote the events, Parchelle would get flyers from the church to hand out, and she hated the way the flyers looked, all decked out in clipart of course. Her hatred of clipart jumpstarted a desire to learn how to use technology to make something better.
She went on to learn graphic design then video design, and now she’s a fully evolved video marketer.
What she wishes she’d learned earlier:
- You’re enough.
- Learn to identify real leadership.
- Stay grateful.
One thing you should go do today:
Use your iPhone or (as our pal Doug Sandler would say) something inferior, to reach out to three people in your contacts. Not just to say hello, but to tell that person something you actually appreciate about them.
Apps in her Dock:
Safari, Messages, Gmail, & Phone
One app she can’t live without:
Last Social Media left standing:
One book you should read:
